Of 1400 growl on start

Just picked up an of1400 today , unpacked it and when you fire it up it makes a sort of grinding growl, best way I can describe it is as if the collet ratchet is rubbing. It only lasts a second then it sounds normal when running.

Do they all do this ? I know my of1010 doesn't but then that hasn't got the ratcheting collet.

Yes, it's got the growl.  Perfectly normal.

Cheers I thought so just sounds odd

This video popped up on google while I was looking for something else. This is the exact noise, as you say its normal.

All good.  That's exactly the same noise that mine makes on start up.
