Hi Guys,
Last week i finally got my first festool router (of1400).  Brand new out the box i've mitred two worktop joints last week, great router A1. Today i used a flush bit to square up 18mm mdf. I'm only taking about 3mm off so nothing over the top at all. The problem i'm getting it when i turn the router off theres a serious amount of orange sparks, like fireworks which can be seen through the top vent hatch.  At first i noticed the slightest bit of smoke but this has now cleared and i just get loads of sparks.
Does anyone know if this is normal i.e the brushes wearing in or do you think there could be an issue.

Help appreciated Thanks Tom

Hi Tom,

Welcome to the forum!

I don't recall mine doing that , but it has been a long time so I may just be forgetting.  Have you tried contacting your dealer? Or UK Festool

Hi thanks for the replies,
Have been on phone to my dealer and he assures me this is normal at first and yes its to do with the electronic brake.

I had been worried about mine and said so on a thread a few months ago but it no longer does it.

I am absolutely happy that the dealer quoted by Tom is quite right and it is all quite normal.
