of1000 maintenance

Hi All,

My first Festool (actually FESTO) router, the OF1000, has given me great service since I bought it roughly 15 years ago. Recently it has been making a whining sound and I wonder if it is time for some type of cleaning/maintenance. Anybody know what to do about this--send it somewhere for maintenance, lubrication, brushes?

Any advice would be helpful.

John, although your Festo OF1000 is long out of warranty, Festool USA Service still supports those.

My suggestion would be to use the Festool USA toll-free phone line, which is 888 337-8600

My oldest OF1010 has been in daily use since early 2006 with only routine cleaning. It is still running well with original bearings and brushes.

Thanks for the response and the phone number. I'm fairly certain this is not a serious issue--tool works fine, does not  bog down or malfunction in any way. I'd just like to be sure.
