First of all: When attaching the guide plate to the OF1400 the notch in the plate does NOT align with the notch in the router base as it does on the OF1010.  In fact the plate is installed with the notch on the side OPPOSITE the notch in the router base.  I am sure it is mentioned somewhere but I don't recall seeing this in any videos or elsewhere and it took me a few minutes to figure it out when I assembled by LR32 system for the first time today.  [eek]

Also: Be sure the stop on the rail is firmly against the appropriate end of the stock.  [embarassed]

And: When moving the guide plate along the rail, be sure the pin clicks into the hole before plunging.  [huh]

Next: Dowel can be used to fill holes made in the wrong place.  [crying]

Finally: Dominoes can be used to fill domino mortises cut in the wrong place.  [mad]

Even with a few issues, and not much help from Messrs. Faster, Easier and Smarter, a day is the shop is better than a day not in the shop.  [smile]

I just picked up the LR32 on Friday and used it for the first time this past weekend.  Not to mention I just used my DF 500 for the first time on sheet goods.  So I can relate to this entire post.

I don't have the 1010 yet and had a few issues at first getting my OF1400 to set up on the LR32 Plate.  I had to forgo my dust collection.  [crying]

While learning to use the LR32 system I marked the book matching sides and for the life of me I had a brain cramp on one side. I had to fill them and start over.  Luckily this piece will be painted.

Even if you lay everything out and mark every spot using the domino something could happen when your wife calls you in the house and ask you a 1000 questions.  I came back and started the domino on the wrong side grrr..... I had to fill them in with domino's cut flat... dry then finish the joinery.

All in all my weekend hobby is going very well.

What sort of trouble were you having with the dust collection?

Well, seeing the beer cans in the pics I think we can guess what the problem was. [big grin]

I may not have had it set up correctly I still need to play with it a bit more.  For this the screw knob was in the way of the OF1400 and would not lock in due to that screw.
