Search did not yield anything for me on comparison. So, are these two guides compatible with both machines? The pictures on festool's website look exactly the same. Just trying to figure out if I need to buy both or can I live with one.

Thanks for any input.

492636 - OF 1400
494680 - OF 2200

The OF 2200 uses 10mm bars, separated 110 mm (numbers from memory). I don't have a 1400, but I would suspect that those bars are separated slightly less and run at a lower height. I think someone at festool probably re-used the image as they do look very similar.

......????? ....Surely you mean the OF1400 & OF2200 edge guides....?? The OF1010 edge guide is far smaller and a completely different design!

Below is a picture of the 1400 and 2200 Edge Guides. The actual guides are the same but the attachment to the guide rods, as you can see, is different. The 1400 attachment is narrower.....

The 1010 and the 2200 have all most the same spacing between rods. But the rods on the 1010 are much smaller diameter than the 2200. But the spacing of the rods on the 1400 and the 2200 are way off and don't play together.

Thank you all for the feedback. I guess I will buy both!

Don't do that.  Instead, buy the Microfence version.  Expensive at first, but much more versatile in the long run.

Nope, it’s the 1010 and 2200 that interchange. Suprised me when I discovered the spacing was the same.

I agree 100%...I have 1 Microfence edge guide and I can swap it between the 700, 1010 & 1400 routers. I'd also be able to use it on the 2200 if I owned one.  [big grin] They also sell adapters so that I can use it on my Milwaukee routers. Versatile & accurate.

The imperial version is graduated in .001" increments while the metric version is graduated in .1mm increments.

The edge guide also happens to be on the Octoberfest sale that ends at midnight tonight. Normally $249 on sale for $209. Free shipping coupons are also available for new customers.

Any questions I'd call Rich (the owner) directly. Nice guy and he will gladly walk you through the process. They're located in California.

[member=45856]blaszcsj[/member] I strongly just urge you to call Rich because he will figure things out for you. You still have time  [big grin]

I’ve even talked with Rich a couple of days after a sale has ended and he’s extended the discount when I missed it. He’s a sharp guy, both design wise and business wise...give him a call.

Thanks for the suggestion. Called him and updated the order.
