Well I've been on the fence for a year!
Last year I bought my first festool! A ts55req 1400 2 track and 3000 track 2 sets of clamps and a fein vac.  That being said wow track saw is the best investment I have made to date.
I wanted to buy the miter saw and vac but couldn't justify the price.  After much debate and countless hours of research and trials of trying to make my dewalt dust collection better and switching to my dewalt 718 slider I finally said enough is enough went to my bank got a small loan and pulled the trigger on a kapex and vac!
What a difference in dust collection wow and absolute precision!!! Only got to use it a couple hours but I'm off the fence!!!
Here is a pic
Also a pic of track saw and a piece of 1/4" paneling I turned into a grooved panel on my very awesome paulk ultimate work bench!
I also am making a paulk miter saw stand for kapex and putting dewalt stand back on my 718

Interesting, thanks for posting.  What was involved to get the Kapex mounted on the DeWalt stand / brackets?

First, [member=29253]Timberrat[/member], [welcome] to the FOG!!! And congratulations on the Kapex. It feels a lot like bringing home a new baby, doesn't it?

Many of us here have posited that the Track Saw is a gateway drug. Your post once again proves that is true...

Jeff you saw that was a dewalt stand
I should have used smaller bolts than the ones provided with the stand but didn't
I just drilled the saw base holes to next size and attached the front bolts. Than drilled rear holes and the dewalt brakets to make it fit quick and get back to working.
Was anxious to see how saw and vac performed on the MSG trim we were installing!
Wasn't real impressed immediately but it was a lot better than the dewalt!
Than turned the speed setting down to 3 and OMG!!!!
What a difference that made virtually no dust am very happy!!!
The dewalt stand is only temporary going to make paulk miter saw stand for it this weekend
And return dewalt stand to my 718 slider
