Hi
I went thru the same dilemma when the choice came between these two. I went for the OFK eventually. A good thing to know is that you can add on accessories to make an OFK out of an MFK and the other way around (Use the EKAT for parts). It is the same motor on both and like stated before the difference is the ski-foot/bearing-guide on the OFK and the "more solid" vertical base with optional parallel edge guide on the MFK.
I have not used the MFK but when using the OFK for vertical routing I sometimes feel a "more solid" base would be good, like on the MFK. When I say solid I mean that the routerbase on the MFK seem to give a better support all around the bit when routing, as on the OFK where the horisontal base used in vertical mode you need to push the base (on the knob) towards the material to prevent the router from tipping over.
The vertical base on the MFK also got the parallel edge guide that will give a better support against the edge than the ski-foot.
I also believe the dust-extraction in vertical mode is better on the MFK.
One of the reasons I went for the OFK was that I have the OF-1010 router that covers most of my vertical work. If I was to make the choice today I would probably go for the MFK, but that is purely based on my personal preferences.
