of the Wal and Hickory kind.

This is what happens when I'm to cheap to buy a stand for the free TV. I received.

All culled scraps.

Cool stand!  Would it be correct to assume that these images are your shop in Colorado?  You had written that you had committed to a few projects but I see some large dollar purchases in the images.

Peter

Much nicer than anything you could have bought without qualifying to be featured on the Rich and Famous.

Tom,

Question - Would you trade the stand for another (free) TV? [drooling]

Yep, that's the shop in CO. I had to purchase the equipment due to adding employees, most can't grasp the Festool concept enough to make it productive in the shop. Even with all that equipment my go to is still all the Festools.

I did post about the projects that were completed on 8/3/2018.

I didn't want the first TV. Came as a package deal when I bought a mattress set, I got tried of sleeping on the floor after 2-1/2 months.

Had the TV about 2 weeks, it's been on about 3 hours. Last night I did watch the special on The Carpenters on PBS (for the 1000th time at least) Karen will always be my number one.

No one, the way she commanded and audience was mesmerizing.

Most don't know but she was one of the top drummers of her time. She considered herself a drummer who sang, not a singer who drummed.

42+ years ago---our first dance.

Beautiful cabinet, love the contrasting woods.  Also beautiful lumber rack against the wall in the last pic.

Sorry to take this further off-topic, but about 2 years ago I converted all of my old vinyl Carpenters albums to digital and they sound wonderful playing in the shop  [smile]

That is a beautiful TV stand, love it! :)

Oh, and I hope you don't mind I add my favorite Carpenters song :)

Kind regards,
Oliver

Looks stunning.
How will the top cope with  wood movement?

As Chuck mentioned, they are slip panels. Dominos were sanded slightly and not glued. Left a slight gap between the panel and frame.

If the one shaper cutter had not launched a carbide I would have done a T&G joint panel to frame with a back cut on the bottom.

Post them one and all.

How about a song that's title was written in 1940 and the song finally written in 1972. It is also considered the first "power ballad".

Why not, if you are referring to the dominos attaching the top panel to the sides? At least you can glue either the back or front ones, no?

To the best of my knowledge there is not a Carpenter song I do not own on digital or other media. I have Karens' solo album on digital. It was an injustice that it took 36 years (longer than Karen lived) for it to be released.

I could have glued the Dominios into the frame and not glued then into the panel. All of the panel mortices were cut on the medium setting on the 500 (a rarity for me). This allows the panel to move in all horizontal directions.

[member=4105]tjbnwi[/member] Nice work as always  but I'm with Peter, more fun with what's going on in the background.

Did the Laguna dealer at least buy you lunch?  [wink]

No, but he spends money with my brother. Unfortunately my brother will not raise his rates for one "patient". The dealer is 1200 miles from me....

I went with Laguna because after some research they fell into the categories I needed them to. There were others I would have preferred but were not in the budget at the time. By going with one brand I know where to get parts if I need them.

Biggest complaint---Fusion tables saws dust collection is terrible.
