Hi,

Here comes the first part of my hunt for the perfect jigsaw blade(s). I'm very happy with my cordless Carvex but there's a large choice of blades out there. In this first part I used "what I had laying around" "vs." a couple of Festool blades + a special Metabo blade, a friend had send me for this video.

I just love doing this, no scientific approach or the like... I created the video some time ago, hope you enjoy it. Maybe it helps with choosing the right jigsaw blades.

One thing, because that frequently comes up: I had some trouble inserting saw blades when I first got the saw. That was until I understood that the saw blade guides need to be properly adjusted BEFORE inserting a saw blade. This is crucial, otherwise it/they will give you trouble while trying to insert a saw blade.

Didn't watch the video but I'm sure it's interesting...

A picky correction; you can't adjust the blade guides before the blade is inserted and locked.
You do need to open the guides up enough to get the blade into the shaft clamp, then you can adjust.

You're obviously correct. Opening up the blade guides, is a far better description! I apologize, english is not my native language.

Once they mentioned they hit a screw, the case was lost.

But yes, if a manufacturer tries to tell you warranty is invalid because of accessory or consumable use, you can let them know you are aware of Magnuson-Moss and you will wish to have their findings examined by a third party. The situation tends to be resolved shortly after that.

Anyway, back to the blade test.

The blades are suppose to run cooler with more surface area on them to make up for the heat of the guide block rubbing, and keep sparks from shooting out.

Of course with my jigsaw I do not need them, but they look cool and I figured I would try them.

I believe you're in Germany. You might be able to order blades from ecotools.nl , which is a rather popular vendor with BeNeLux buyers. They offer dirt-cheap 'white-goods' replacements (also for tracksaw blades, BTW), and have been getting VERY good reviews.

I've used their jigsaw blades - made in Germany! - much to my satisfaction (albeit in a, ehr, red jigsaw, but that shouldn't matter).
