https://www.omgainc.com/8-single-mitre-saws
I have been spending some time re-working the area where I have my Kapex and I was considering if I should look at Omga as they seem to be way more accurate than the Kapex and I do no not need the portability, compound miter, or crosscut length of a slider. I read old posts here and elsewhere, and it seems some were able to get nice deals on used Omga saws in great condition.
I have a friend who has an Omga and he said the model he has is the T50-350. He also has a Kapex for the field and so is in a great position to do a comparison.... he said no comparison on accuracy. He raves about the Omga.
Anyhow, as I look at the different Omga saws, the price difference between that T50 and the 1L300 is huge. It is 3 times as expensive. It is not like there is just 1 Omga vs the 1 Kapex (well... I know a few recent upgrades to the 1 Kapex). I then started to look at the specs.... not a huge difference in crosscut capacity or RPM... more horsepower, slightly larger table size on the T50. Then I looked at weight. The shipping weight of the 1L300 was 47 lbs and the T50 was 222 lbs. OMG!
Not sure when people are comparing the Omga to the Kapex if they are comparing it to the 1L300 or the T50 or some other Omga, and I wonder just how noticeable those 2 would be side by side. Anyone have any experience with that? Just curious.
