On a sad note.

Well, Festool will be closing their West Coast  (Goleta, CA) office next week - all operations and staff are located in Lebanon, IN.
Just wanted to say the Support Staff (Kasey, Jessica, Lars, Mark, David, Ceaser and Wayne) at Goleta has been terrific in every sense of the word. I wish them all the best  - they will be missed.
The good news is that Lars is staying on as a Regional Sales Manager and David will be available for Technical assistance.

Thanks for posting this, Bob.  Back before I found out about you, I bought several tools from the good folks in Goleta, and Jessica in particular was very helpful.  I wish her and her colleagues the best in whatever their next jobs might be.

Yep...Sad. Mark and David will be missed. Mark was vital to Festool's customer service.

They all were important, but as I have mentioned, Lars and David will not be leaving Festool; Lars is now a Regional Sales Manager and David will be available by phone; working from his home.

While Goleta, CA is certainly a nice place to live, unfortunately it is one of the most expensive places to live in the country due to the real estate costs and taxes.  Festool is just one of the many businesses leaving California in recent times and at a time where the State of California is financially in the pits needing all the tax income they can get.

So this is a sad note for the state of California as well as the employees affected.
