Hi All,
I've been a member of this forum for some time, but this is my very first post. Yesterday I've purchased my first Festools. Domino Joiner, CT22 with Boom Arm, and MFT/3. I came home and spent a great deal of time setting things up and was very eager to try Festool products. So far (2 houses into my workings with Festool) I'm very happy.
The reason I'm posting in this thread is because I wanted to share my experience with all of you in Ontario about a great dealers we have here. If you're like me in eastern Ontario, Ottawa region, you're a lucky fellow. There is a dealer in Brockville named ToolTech and the guy is awesome. He showed me how to properly use the domino, answered all of my questions, I got to try other Festool tools like Rotex sender etc. This dealer has all of the Festools in stock and on display so you can come in and try them before you buy them. I got CT22 and MFT/3 from him on the same day. The owners name is Patrick and the guy takes pride in selling and servicing Festool products. The coolest thing about this dealer is that he runs almost like a mini workshops in his showroom, demonstrating to new users and not so new user some of the ways we can improve our skills, since he's got a large display and (I think) most of the Festools on it, you have the ability to feel the products and try them right there.
Overall, I had a great experience with ToolTech and I am happy to post this as a review of this dealer. I keep comparing this dealer and Festool with Apple computers, anyone who's got apple knows how good it is and loves their experience in Apple Store, the same thing here. Festool seems to be so solid and well made and experience with this dealer reminds me a lot of experience in Apple store where you're serviced and served like you're the only one. Way to go Festool, way to go ToolTech...

Sincerely,

Yuri York

Hi Yuri, it's great to see knowledgeable Festool dealers in Ontario.  I travel near Brockville about every 6 weeks and I think I will drop in and see Patrick on one of my trips.

Congratulations on your first Festool purchases.  My first purchase was about 6 years ago, and the experience then and every since has been (mostly) great.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for your post. I've been following your posts for a while now and I admire your work. I've been wanting to own festool for a long long time but never had the guts to pull the trigger and spend the money. I did this time and so far I'm very pleased with it.
I do feel however that there is a learning process that needs to take place in order for me to fully utilize the capabilities of these tools. I'm eager to learn.

My first project is going to be a fireplace mental and I will post photos as I progress and complete the project. I just build a mental using Kreg's pocket screws and I'm going to build a second one exactly the same using Festools dominos. Will try to do a side by side review as I finish it.

Thanks again,

Sincerely,

Yuri York

Has Tool Tech not been a dealer for sometime?

I've been meaning to go down there and check it out, problem is Brockville is almost an hour from Ottawa and they are open bankers hours.

Its nice to know they have a good set-up for tool demonstration but they do not have an online store and for commodity purchases I can just as easily order goods from Dan shipped to my door for the same price.

Yes I know what you mean about an hour plus drive, I'm in Ottawa too. However, they are the closest dealer to us, and a good dealer. I personally don't like to order online, unless I know the dealer and unless I already know the product. But I see your point.
BTW I believe ToolTech is lunching online store soon.

Anyways it's all good.
