Ordering some bits of UHMWPE as recommended by [member=43478]Ed Bray[/member] to get this Startrite table saw up and running for the fence and for the zero clearance inserts, thinking ahead (read: being tight and trying to get free delivery by ordering over a certain amount), what kind of plastic (loose term right there) should I be looking to get for future uses?

Namely:

Router table base for when I eventually build a router table.
Extended router base for my excellent* bowl manufacturing to make life easier.

I've got the word "phenolic" in my head and the supplier I am using does sell that, but I don't want to grab the wrong stuff.

What thickness for both the above projects would you recommend? Both spans will be about the same I guess. The size of a table insert is perhaps about the same size as the piece I am looking at to give my OF1400 a bigger footprint when rolling around on a piece of wood carving a bowl.

I have a phenolic insert made by Kreg, it looks okay but haven't actually used it. I would expect any sheet material that is perfectly flat would be good for the top of a router table. When I make mine I will probably use multiple sheets of MDF glued together with a laminate top (for slidyness).

Buy 3/4" min. Phenolic for your table or laminate a piece of 3/4-1" piece of MDF or Baltic birch with microdot or similar.
