This is the first project I've done and been smart enough to take a few pictures of. I set out to buy and install a kit that would pipe fresh outside air to my woodstove because of some issuess I was having when my wife would run the furnace while I was away for work. Every time I lit a new fire I'd get smoke in my face until I could reverse the flow of the air back up the chimney. So I call Vermont castings to order the adapter and they laughed at me [sad]. My stoves been discontinued for 30 years. So time to get crafty!
First is the piece I needed to fabricate that would get bolted to the stove with 1/4 20 machine screws that I had to drill and tap.
Next is the fit.
Third is getting the pipe plumb inside the divot.
Last is the whole deal installed. I'll take some pictures of the flex tubing running to the crawl space underneath the kitchen addition and the fire kicking a little later. This solved all of my problems with a negative air environment and really warmed up my house since cold air isn't being pulled through my house from all the nooks and crannies to fuel my stove. I know it isn't wood working but I figured I'd share anyway!
