I’m beginning a project for young impecunious young friends hard hit by the shutdown.
It’s a 5’ by 3” outdoor table with 2 benches. I have a photo of what they want so I am not flying blind. The table will have a “frame” with slats running the short distance across the frame. The frame sides are doubled up 3/4” boards Each 3.5” high. The slats will be 7” wide and 3/4” thick. Dominos will be the major joining method.
I have a concern about the frame warping twisting over time.
Would adding 2 midspan stringers each 2 feet in from the table’s ends create a torsion box stiffness to the top?
