I just couldn't live with the DF 500, but I can't live without being able to use smaller dominos, either. While I can't say enough good things about Seneca's cutter adaptor, the Domishims left me sad inside. Getting the cursor over the line when it's so far away from the surface and down in the shadows just isn't my idea of a good time.

This hardly seems like a novel concept, but various searches turned up nothing in the way of solutions, so I replicated the basic Domishim idea in a scrap of 3/8" (9mm) polycarbonate with clear hairlines engraved at the exact same point down both faces. After subtracting 9mm from the minimum fence height of 10mm, I'm able to set it as far down as 1mm if I want to (no, I probably don't actually ever want to), and not only does it make it incredibly easy to get the center point right on the mark, but the double cursors let you know when you're sighting straight on, too.

Took a couple tries to figure out and execute the optimal screw placement, and it's definitely not specifically geared toward attempting to center anything on any thickness of plywood (which I find to be a waste of time anyway), but it still cost less than $10 and it makes my life a lot easier. Someone with a CNC setup could probably do a whole lot better a whole lot faster.
