I making a hexagonal  patio table  and was wondering  is it good practise  to glue  the end grains? The timber is  150mm x 40mm  pressure treated softwood.

I'm think of using a clear  silicone  adhesive  which  will seal  and glue  to some extent.
Many thanks.

If you are looking at it from a treatment point of view, then if the softwood is treated for outdoor use, then you don't need to bother,

If you are looking at it from a joint point of view, then yes, when two pieces make a permanent join I would always glue them.

Hope this helps,

Thanks. Finished the table  some time ago.
But for the prohibitive  price  felders  Mini V-teeth cutter  I think would  be an elegant solution.
