PDC red light

Had this drill for about 5-6 years
It’s been faultless
Today it’s been a problem
When pulling the trigger it starts for a couple of seconds
Stops, Beeps and the led flashes red.
Any ideas?

Bad battery? Did you try a different battery?

From the manual

LED red-flashing:indicates a general fault, e.g. incomplete contact, short circuit, battery pack faulty, etc.

Tried all battery’s that I had.
Same outcome with all.
I read the general fault bit in the manual.
That doesn’t really help me solve the problem

Best is to sent it in for a service quote to Festool. If it is a minor issue, you can have it renewed. If a major one, you can drop the idea and live with it.

General fault is a code word for "an issue we do not want the user to troubleshoot".
