i picked up a RO 90 today.  I'm kinda angry as I went in to midwest woodworkers to pick up a Kreg Foreman [embarassed] and ended up with this, and a stack of brilliant-- what is worse is i have no  no buyers regrets  [big grin].  I played with it a bit and now HAVE a new sys 2 Tloc for sale [wink]
is the buffing stuff available yet?  I think it will quickly become my go to sander with my RO 150 and others taking a back seat.

The polishing supplies have been available for about a year is my memory is correct.

Charimon - I have had my RO 90 for about three weeks now and I love it.

Tom just sent me a systainer with an assortment of disks for the RO 90.

Tom the systainers arrived as well as the Sys-Port, now that's a great way to organize in a small shop!

I'm glad everything arrived as we expected, Jack. I suspect you will be very happy with them...

I got the RO90 when they first came in the US.  also got a 150 just about te same time. Both are excellent sanders. I use the RO90 on smaller pieces and the 150 for cab sides etc...

ok update.

I suggest that this be anyone's FIRST festool purchase  there are other good 5" & 6" sanders on the market and you can buy a Mak rail saw and get the same results,  it isnt the "game changer that the domino is but  there is nothing as uniquely versatile as this sander.  3 modes,  5 functions in the smallest format on the market.  It is Cooler than the OF 1010 (to me that is the greatest complement i can give a tool.)  The RO 90 personifies my tool philosophy of carrying the smallest lightest tool that will accomplish 98% of my tasks.
modes/ functions
Rotex / Aggressive rotary sanding & polishing
Random orbit / fine sanding
Deltex/ detail & "jitterbug" sanding

so after going back and picking up over $200 in abrasives & accessories I am becoming fully Invested-err Equipped [eek]

My wife commented that it looked like a Scrub Buddy  this got me thinking about a 6th function  Grout residue scrubber  I deal with full acrylic grouts that SUCK to clean
the Viles sample backing quickly fell off  which revealed a brand new unworn side to use  [big grin]  I looked up the price of Viles 10 for $16  [eek]  so I am experimenting with a different spiked "velcro" on a soft pad to stick scotch brite style pads directly  (this is a much more cost effective solution to tough "scrubbing" cleaning tasks)  will post info when i find the best combo.

Well done with the RO 90 purchase.  it's a very versatile machine and its easy to control. My Rotex 150 is.still Useful - but its taken a 'back seat'.

Don't forget, it cleans that baked-on grease from a grill real easy...

Tom,

Just to clarify...  You're referring to the RO90 + Vlies.  Correct?  The 100grit?  280?

Also, for cleaning grout, when grit would you suggest?

Thanks,

Dan.

I think I used the Vlies A100, Dan. I also used some "Super Clean" Cleaner Degreaser in a spray bottle and a little water.

I haven't gotten to the grout yet but I have a whole lot of it to do so I'll find out before long...

Tom

EDIT: I did use Vlies A100. I still have the disk for the next cleaning...

My RO 90 amazed me today finishing the edges of a black walnut cabinet top.  The end grain cleaned up to a polish finish with 180 grit paper in the random orbit mode.  Previously I had used my Fein Multimaster but, that machine is now destined for grout removal, etc.
