As you can see, this is a work in progress, but the Security system is in at least! The AC will be hooked up, plumbing completed, tiles finished in about a week or so. This is the "front" part of the store - warehouse and shipping to the rear.  The skylight has been restored and actually works - too bad security dictates it will be "gated" up.
Furniture and computers soon to follow. It's about a mile out of NYC, right out of the Holland Tunnel in an older, used to be Italian neighborhood, that is now being gentrified bigtime.
The store does have a certain...um... charm to it and I hope to maintain that. Wonder what my landllord will say if/when I paint the walls Festool green and grey ;D ;) ;D

Great space Bob - The bar is awesome.  You can serve drinks to drive traffic!

What's the address?  I am now frequently in Jersey and would love to stop in when you're done.

  Neil,

113 Brunswick St, about a mile out of the Holland Tunnel,  but won't be officially open for a couple of weeks though.

Great space.  Ceiling and bar look awesome, sure beats those ugly drop ceiling tiles that are all over the place.  Will this be a Festool only store?  Will you be getting a liquor license?  If you can get a few drinks into your customers, they might loosen up their wallets a bit more.  :D

Looks like a good place and it sounds like a good location.

How far is it from your home?

Steve,

Festool only! I think if anyone will be drinking, it gonna be me. ;)

You know, you could incorporate that bar a little into the game plan. Hire a cute little barista and have some nice coffee and teas on hand for the clientele. Have a cup of tea, browse a little...

Hey RW,

I should only get to that point ;D

I consider Bob to be a friend as well as a competitor so I have to say I don't agree with this cute, little barista idea.

If he hires her, he'll spend MORE time at the office, and I'll never be able to catch up to the guy.

Instead, hire a thick-wristed, hairy fellow named Hans who only serves coffee one way and if you don't like it, he glares at you. In fact, I know a few people who fit that description, Bob. I can forward resumes.

Here's some more pics.

Do you think I have enough boxes  ;) ;D ;)  ?

The floors been regrouted and sealed. Gettin' ready to box up those Kapex's.  :o

Bob, good luck with the new digs, I'm sure it will work out for you. I'll have to come in and check it out next time we come to New York City. Now about those pictures with the not released but already legendary Kapex Saws, were they posted to torment me? I've been under a lot of pressure lately and I'm quite sure that the only relief in site is to have one of those little jewels in my possession (I'd really like to put it in my bedroom but I'm sure the wife would object, maybe the spare bedroom?). Just reassure me that you are on schedule to ship July 1st and I'll be contented. Seriously though best of luck.

Yes, sir, July1!

Hi Bob,

Your new place looks great!  When you are ready to branch out to the left coast there is a great old tavern building for sale (the Old Stoney Front Tavern) just across the street from me that would make a perfect second store for you.  Large rock fire place and even the old bar back and cooler unit.  Not quite as fancy as where you are now and a long way from a large locus of customers, but a lot closer to fine domestic hard woods........

Good luck with your venture.  Cheers,

Jerry

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the well wishes. Oh, I am sure that place must be one of a kind, but right now, can't even think west of NJ, ACTUALLY West for this Brooklyn guy is NJ ;D ;) :D. Once I do get setup, if you are in the area, give a call and stop by. Hell, same goes for all the FOGGERS. Maybe at some point, I can have Festool get-together/shindig too!
