Planer Sled for my Ridgid 13" planer

Hello Guys,

I was wondering if a planer sled will work to flatten boards rather than buying a new jointer because as of right now I cannot justify the cost of a new jointer or space required.

What is the simplest planer sled I can build? Is the one with the hot air glue gun and wedges?  :
