Hi All:
Recently picked up a planex when they were on sale for some upcoming drywall work, nothing major or full-time. Do any of you drywallers have advice on what grit size(s) to stick with for basic USG joint compound? I'm seeing the full run of grits from 40 to 320, but wondering if just one or two grit sizes would be all that I need. What are folks using out there?

Thank you in advance,
C.

I use 220 grit most of the time. This will feather the edges and take off any stray compound. I also use 220 after a skim coat. If your taping is not that great try 180 or 150 then top coat and finish with 220

220, be careful not to burn the paper. It removes compound very quickly, move at a quick pace.
