Planex drywall sander with Midi Extractor?

Anybody used the planex sander with a Midi dust extractor? is it adequate enough?

Because the Midi does not have the automatic filter cleaning function, your filter will get clogged very quickly and you lose suction.

Not recommendable.

We recommend the CT 36 with the Planex. The HEPA filters with the other CTs will clog very quickly without the AC feature to clean it every 15 seconds.

In a Midi without the AC function you'll probably use the dust bag. The dust bag cloggs very quickly too.

I never used the Planex, but I use all my other sanders with my Mini on drywall, and suction drops dramatically before the bag is even 1/4 full, because all the pores in the cloth are completely caked with drywall dust.

The Planex creates even more dust than hand sanders.

Can the AC feature be turned off? Just thinking the sound might be a bit annoying in situations were it is not needed. And surely, of course, a blessing when needed

Tyler, as far as I know everything you said was accurate.

It only might have been added that with a CT36 AC you do not use a dust bag with the Planex, so all the dust goes straight to the main filter, which is then cleaned by the AC function.

And with the Midi you generally do use a dust bag, so that acts as the primary filter and cloggs up, while it leaves the main HEPA filter clean.

I've used my midi on small jobs where I didn't want to drag in the 36AC with my planex with decent results. I just turned it off frequently so the bag can "clean" itself.
