Decided to take advantage of the Planex package and upgrade to the CT 36 AC (will be reselling my CT 26 shortly).  What's the deal with the Planex hose again?  It looks like it's also anti-static.  Is this hose just better with the drywall dust, and if so, why?

I'm just wondering why, if I already have a 36mm new style hose (and a 5m one at that), why I might want to hold onto the Planex hose as well?

I believe it is anti-static, but it is not the green cloth mesh type hose.  It is more of a plastic wire-spiral reinforced hose.  Their is probably some weight savings doing it this way, but it is not the nice cloth hose.

Hi, keep it make a nice extension hose w/ right connectors.we normally hook two hoses for drywall and keep the 36ac near a door for cleaner filter cleaning. auto clean does not mean never clean.we began seeing wear in the planex hose, tyvex wrapped around the belly has helped on wear and remains flexible .the planex connector is changeable, also a10m plug it used to be available in 16 ga. we swap right over between cloth and plastic bags just clean the filter. the 36 to 27 reducer helps us no hose swapping time is$. think you will like  the ac machine.

Lighter weight, more flexible, and the fact it locks are on are the only reasons for the Planex hose. My only gripe is the hose should be a minimum of 5 meters long.

For those who want a longer Planex hose I found THIS It looks just like the planex hose based on the pic.  Im not sure how the ends are fastened on the planex hose since mine is still in the bag and I havent looked that closely.  Not sure if they unscrew or are glued on.  If you asked centec would probably send a sample.

So based on photos since Im to lazy to go out to the shed it looks like the planex hose ends have a similar screw on with retainer design like the other hoses. BUT the strange thing is I cannot find the Planex hose on the Festool site.  I found it on Amazon with a Festool part #496972 but even when I plug that into Festool site I cant find it.  I tried looking in accessories under both the CT's and Planex too and no planex hose or ends.  I also tried searching for just the ends but no dice.

Hi, redesign on new end
