Just a few ideas for the planex sander. Instead of having suction at either the center holes or the outer ring, make this a variable adjustment. The user would adjust the amount of pull against the wall and the rest of the suction would go to the outer ring, instead of being wasted at the handle.

A glide strip, like found on the guide rails, around the head of the sander.

An adjustable shoe to fine tune for sanding in corners.

Lights on the head of the sander.

Those are brilliant ideas I've always thought the light would be a huge improvement. I think all the suggestions could be done as accessories that clip into where the removable guard is now.

I was at lee valley the other day and they had a brim light for ball caps that was almost perfect for the planex but not quite enough light. There is a vid on YouTube with of a planex with a light that looks perfect

I think lights on all of the sanders would be a great idea ... today it's seems limited to mainly drills and jigsaws, but good light and precision work do go hand in hand!

Very cool concept. It would surely help, but the light would be more effective racking across the surface. I used a syslite on a tripod.

I hear you. And, I own a Syslite too. But still, that video WAS interesting, even if they never zoomed in to show the light and any details about it and how it was mounted... [huh]
