Planex won't run

After about eight hours of use sanding plaster with 40 grit pads the new Planex stopped running. When the power switch is turned on I get a quick blink of the LED on the head of the sander. The manual says to clean and I have used the compressor to blow out the dust from vent slots and under the pad. Still won't start. Ideas before I take it in?

There would be a big bag of them shipped with the machine should you need new ones every day.

One quick blink, or constant blinking?

The manual states that slow blinking and not starting is the signal for overheat shutdown, slow and fast might be in the eye of the beholder...

You used it with a dust extractor and cleaned the air intakes of the machine on a regular basis (not only after it shut down)?
Have you also cleaned the filter (which you didn't mention) and gave the machine enough time to cool down afterwards?

There is something in the manual about 'not being able to start the machine with a new sanding disk', so:
Try to dis- and the reassemble the sanding disk, turn it by hand for some rotations, try to start the machine afterwards.
Maybe it is stuck from dirt so the motor is instantly switched off to prevent burnout...
