I tried searching and was wondering if anyone has tried putting a plug it cord inside the new style hose wrap? I took the end off the one side but it looks like the new style hose ends are "glued" on? Hoping someone can confirm or deny as I am somewhat new to the Festool game.

Apologies if I’m misunderstanding you - a couple thoughts: a) are the hoses longer than the plug-it leads? and b) wouldn’t you have to puncture the hose in two places?
Festool do now offer a hose / plug-it wrapped in a cotton sheath for protective sanding applications.

I've seen the "sheathed" hose with cord inside but I was trying to avoid the price tag of it.

[member=69721]badtoytrd[/member] I think you would run into difficulty trying to push the plug-it tool or outlet end through any hole you made in the braided sheath. I think your best bet would be to do the old stand-by of buying some Festool green braided sheathing from eBay and just putting it over both the cord and the new ct hose.

but that was years ago and things have significantly changed. The polyester netting was the best solution at the time, however it did stiffen up the hose significantly especially when it was being used in tight spaces with a sander. There were times when I had to remove the hose to sand within those tight areas. I’ve since retired both of my modified hoses in favor of the jacketed variety.Ah, that's a bummer to hear, Cheese. I actually have a 10m roll of that stuff sitting around for the day I don't have 20 better projects to do. I have to say that the new hoses are spectacular. They're so much more flexible than my original hoses I've replaced all but my 7.5m hose.

I know a lot of guys use cable ties (like the velcro cable organization thingies) to just hold the cord on in a few spots. That's probably a cheap, quick thing you could try out. I really think routing through the sheathing has a high probability of causing you fits.

Thanks for all the responses. I think you all are right and the "sheathed" hose with cord is the best option. I have the cord velcroed to the hose right now and that works but the velcro catches sometimes on the track. I may try some heat shrink on the end closest to the tool to help with that. Again, thanks for everyone's input!
