Plug it power cord issues

I have a Rotex FEQ 6" sander and I am having an issue where the power cord is constantly detaching while I'm operating the tool. It seems like I rotate the plug as far as it will go once attached, but it still seems to work itself out while in use. Needless to say it is quite frustrating. Does anyone else have this issue with the power cord, or any suggestions on how to keep it attached without resorting to duct tape??? Thanks.

I thought I was having that problem, and I rotated the plug the other way, and it locked. Arrow on the plug can be contra-indicating* (if that's a word)

*I guess it is

Contraindicate \Con"tra*in*"di*cate\, v. t. [imp. & p. p.
  Contraindicated; p. pr. & vb. n. Contraindicating.]
  (Med.)
To indicate, as by a symptom, some method of treatment
contrary to that which the general tenor of the case would
  seem to require.

Contraindicating symptoms must be observed. --Harvey.

There is an earlier thread on here somewhere about plug-it connections.  You could be twisitng the wrong way (contra-indicating is probably not a word but it works fine), or it could be that when you think you have gotten to the lock position, you haven't yet.  I am especially having this problem on my relatively new TS55 where finger access is a little tight.  After a few uses they loosen up a little and go on easier.  You just have to make sure it's completely seated and that should solve the problem

Dave bevel the TS saws to give yourself a little more to attach the cord.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try that out next time I am in the shop!

New Plug-It's are often stiff, and, not wanting to force it, many customers stop when they feel resistance.  Make sure you rotate it a 1/4 turn to fully engage the plug.

I had the same problem with my new Roetx 150. I thought I was turning the cord as far as it would go, but it kept falling off. After talking to Bob, I made another attempt to get it to lock. I thought I was going to break something, but I kept turning & it popped into place. Now it locks in every time without near as much force as it did the first time.

I had the exact same experience.  Once you "feel" it snap into place, the next time you know the right position.

Most of the time I use the Plug-It cord that came with my TS 55 for the rest of my Festools.  Despite being switched many times between saw, 1400 router, RO 125 and LS 130, it is still hardest to twist-lock on the saw.  Tilting the bevel mechanism is a good idea to enable you to better grip the Plug-It fitting to fully twist it to locked position.  I have never had a cord come off, but I thought I was going to break the fitting the first few times I connected it to the saw.

I had the exact same problem and everybody here made me realize what a moron I am (not that you are one).

You're not twisting it hard enough.  Don't worry -- you won't break it.  It might feel like you've twisted it as far as you can (or should), but give it a little more muscle.  It'll loosen up over time.  You'll feel good once you hear that "sweak!"

Hey all. I managed to get into the shop today and play with the power cord and the problem was indeed that I didn't turn the plug all the way. Once I hit resistance I gave it a little extra effort and then it turned the final distance and held firm. Whew! Thanks for the help.
