Hello all,
I have until recently been struggling with the plunge lock on my 1010 router. Problem was that a lot of force was required on the plunge lock knob in order to ensure that it did not slip during operation, this did not seem right to me. I searched this forum and did not find a solution. So one night after disassembling and checking out how the plunge lock actually works, I decided just to try putting a few drops of pneumatic oil onto the threads of the plunge knob. Voila, problem solved! Must be that the oil makes the thread more efficient, thus increasing the axial force from the plunge lock onto the bush. Anyway - works perfectly now, so hope this trick helps someone else as well.
Cheers
Robert
