Who in the uk uses pneumatic nail guns, I've always used paslode battery/gas guns,
What's your opinions on them?
Is the air hose a pain?
Set up time?
What make of gun do you use?

I'm thinking of switching too air, only reason I say uk as I've never seen anyone use one over here except in factory's

Over here pneumatics are overwhelming used for first fix (framing).  The operating costs and relative dependability of the cordless tip the scale toward pneumatics.  Cordless come into play more with additions and smaller jobs.  Another consideration in the past was the type of nails available (clipped head or full head) and there was a larger selection for pneumatics.  For second fix (trim) I would guess that pneumatics are still used in the majority but there is less of an advantage.  The portability and fewer nails shot makes the cordless more widely used.

I use a Paslode for first fix and switched from pneumatics to cordless for second fix (Paslode first, then DeWalt), but I am now going to go back to pneumatics because my Dewalt is now getting old and grumpy.

Just my observations.

Mmm thanks Peter, I think what my problem is I love cordless tools they are my first choice but the unrealiability of my 16g guns drives me nuts and the dewalt was too heavy, the other option I was thinking was wait and see what the new dewalt 16g cordless is like that my dealer said should be out this year or get the senco fusion which is expensive here and only comes with 1 battery so I'm led too believe

Just for clarity of the members, I read that you are primarily asking about second fix (trim) nailers.  Correct?

I don't want you to get a whole bunch of info on first fix if that isn't what you are interested in.

I use pneumatic guns in both my home shop and around the house for trim work.  They are Porter Cable Trim and Brad Nailers and a Hitachi Narrow Crown Stapler.  I really like them!  Three drops of oil and they are ready to go.  A Porter Cable Pancake Compressor on a small wheeled trolley gives all the air supply needed, and the coiled hose doesn't seem to get in the way at all.  A little later a Grex 635 Pin Nailer will join the cast of characters, but I have some other purchases first.  I've never used a battery or gas charge unit, so anything else would be really strange to me.
