I recently picked up the Festool wire arm that slips into the CT22 vac.  Looks to be a handy accessory for keeping the vac hose off the floor, but it's a bit short.

So I joined it with some 1/4" steel rod I had sitting around to double the height, making it a bit more useful.

Looks like the hose and cord will cause it to flex, but it's got enough "sway" to it so that it'll give, but it's strong enough not to bend.

I simply made a 1/2" steel joining rod with threaded 1/4-20 holes in it and threaded the end of the 1/4" rod and the bottom of the Festool wire holder.  The Festool rod isn't 1/4", but it's close enough to be threaded 1/4-20.

Used some Loctite in the assembly and it's as solid as if it was one piece.

Side note: these pics show one of the advantages of the MFT/3 over the MFT1080.

The added height adds a huge underneath storage advantage over the old model.  Couldn't get such neat organized stacks under the 1080.

Yes you could.  [poke]  I did so by placeing the legs of one of my old style MFTs into simple blocks with shallow cavities for the legs.
