Hi -
Just wanted to share my experience with the PortaCube.
The first unit shipped (early December) was clearly used and a return - several scratches on the side panels and parts bags had been cut open. The unit wouldn't assemble square (off by 1/4 inch), which prevented the table from rotating without severely binding at the back. The table also had issues with welding, was out of square, and was warped.
A second unit was sent out (12/21) - also a return as shown by wear marks and scratches (more than the first) and the lever mechanism that holds the table in place was broken - won't expand and contract to allow the table to rotate and then lock in place. The sides on the second unit also won't assemble square/parallel to each other.
Affinity Tools is definitely having manufacturing issues - and they don't seem to be concerned about what they are shipping out either since both of the units I received were obvious returns.
Fortunately I ordered through Woodpeckers who promptly responded when I reported the problems with the first unit, and then refunded my purchase in full when I called about having the same issues with the second unit. When speaking with Woodpeckers, it sounds like most customers are reporting the same issues with the units. (Woodpeckers is a great merchant BTW - none of this is their fault, and they are standing behind what they sold even though it's not their product.)
Maybe Affinity will get the manufacturing issues worked out so that the units assemble square to operate right. Can't understand though why they would ship out units returned as defective to another customer - once would have been a mistake, but twice in a short time appears to be intentional/derelict. Too bad, because it looks like a good design.
