Has anyone heard if they will be making anymore of these, or can you order one, or are they just gone never to been bought again ?

It's gone forever. We plan to have a similar sander at some point, but it won't be at the same price point.

Would it be within the realm of possibilities that a dealer might still end up with sellable stock from their initial order? I know these sanders were / are coming into the USA in batches, for example my dealer sent mine to me about a week ago, maybe they received extras not spoken for too...?

Maybe a dealer can pop in here, or the OP could check with several dealers to see if they can get on a list still. Festool NA may be 'sold out', but that does not mean all dealers are.. Just an idea.

To my knowledge, the product being delivered now was pre-sold or pre-assigned to a specific person.  I would talk to the local dealers first.  There is always a small chance of finding a Pro 5 Ltd that someone decided not to buy.

As others have said, check with all of your local dealers. I signed up with the local Woodcraft store, but when they called me up 2 weeks ago, I decided to pass on it and told them to give it to the next person in line. I'm sure there are some others that have done the same thing.

I'd be curious to know how many Pro 5 sanders Festool will end actually making to fulfill all the initial orders

Fyi the Woodcraft in Norwalk, CT has a stack of them available.

My local Windsor plywood in red deer Alberta just got in about 20 of them last week still for 135 ish Canadian. If you give them a call they might ship to you as looks like your in Canada.

I was able to get one when they first came out since I pre paid for it right away. Sure wish I had another one... The light weight and size is perfect for those times when sanding overhead or sanding anywhere not resting on top of a work surface. Considering a 125 but thinking a 5" brushless will hopefully come out...

Thanks...Yes, I've seen that one but a smaller compact model similare to the Pro 5 is what i would want.

[member=61628]fineartboxes[/member] , the ETS EC is smaller and more compact than the PRO 5. The brushless motor makes it smaller and lighter weight.

While the perspective doesn't compare apples to apples, you can see the size comparison in this photo.

If you're wanting a $99 brushless Festool sander, that won't happen. [big grin]

The $99 price is not the issue...the size/weight is. I spent many hours sanding vertical surfaces with my 6" sander and my arms and shoulders did not appreciate it until I got the 5". Next time i'm in a store that sells Festool I would like to do a side by side comparison with the 5" brushless.

Here ya go...

Excellent, thanks [member=44099]Cheese[/member]. The weight is 1.2kg for both sanders. I'm surprised, I actually thought the ETS EC was slightly less weight.

I have both.
A $200 Pro5 (about what the regular price will be) is not the same as the $400 ec125.
I love having the ec125/3.  Bought it last summer.

I set the 2mm swirl unit with the soft pad, the 3mm swirl unit with the hard pad.  Nice combination so far.

Had I known I was getting the pro5, I would have bought the 150/5 as a better compliment.

Now that I've had time to fondle the x400 line, the triangle model might be a  better general purpose sander.

I agree...because of the lower center of mass, the EC handles better and feels lighter than the Pro 5. I was just using both of them on a drywall job and I enjoy using the EC more.  [cool]  That's the reason for the photo...there were both on hand.
