Hi Folks,

I have a Midi and a CT 26 and I have just bought the OF 2200. In the manual for the CT 26, we find that the maximum load through the plug connector is 12 amps or 1440 watts using 120 volts for the calculation approximately. The 2200 is 2200 watts, and at 120 volts, that is 18.33 amps. It seems to me that the dust collector needs to be used on a different circuit from the router and that the dust collection should be turned on manually....this may not be an issue where standard voltage is 240. Does anybody have any information that addresses this? I think that I remember running the 2200 in a Festool class with dust collection but I did not investigate how the wiring was done on that one....any information greatly appreciated.

You may have found that the integrated receptacle that provides energy for tool-triggered activation on the CT has a warning label on its dust cover.  This warning reads, “To reduce the risk of fire, only connect a tool rated 3.7 amp. maximum to this receptacle”.  What does this mean in regards to the tools you can use with a Festool CT Dust Extractor?  It means that CT Dust Extractors are designed to work with ALL Festool power tools.  However, we cannot speak for, or verify the compatibility of other non-Festool products used in conjunction with the Festool CT Dust Extractors.  Furthermore, you may find that it is advantageous to use another circuit to energize a power tool separate of that being used by the CT Dust Extractor to ensure that the maximum current* is available for the application.

To put it more simply, Festool CT Dust Extractors are designed to be used with every Festool product in normal working environments.

*The quality of your energy supply (voltage & current) may vary.

I have run the OF2200 through my festool vac on a 20-amp, 120 outlet with zero issues.

I’m in the same camp as Jason. No problems running the 2200 through the Mini on a 120v house circuit.

It's important to remember that the OF 2200 "can" draw up to 20 amps at 110 volts at full load.  P=EI where P (power in watts) equals E (energy in volts) times I (current in amps).  Under normal circumstances, the OF 2200 doesn't even come close to drawing full load current.  If you're doing a bunch of heavy routing using the OF 2200, you might consider powering the CT from a different circuit than the one that is powering the OF 2200.  Yes, you'll lose the auto-start of the CT and have to switch it on manually.  So what?  [smile]

Even on full 1200 + 2200 (28,3A) a 20A breaker might take a while to trip.

If yours are similar to ours... it might take anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes.

In 230V land we run the whole garage on a single 16A circuit; table saw, CT, lights, battery charger, radio and if you want to... let someone else do the sanding with another CT on the same circuit  [smile]
The 2nd circuit is for the PV panels

American CT's come with 2.5mm^2 mainscord, right?
