Question about TS75 EQ Plunge Saw

Hi Festool experts,  I am planning to get a Festool Track saw and I found two deals that I am hesitant on which one I should be getting.

I need your advise please.

1/ TS75  imperial, brand new never used. No track.  Price is CAD $800.
With the 75” rail it is CAD $950.  No taxes.

2/ TS75 metric, used but look decent, with 75” track is CAD $800. No taxes.

I am fluent in using both measuring systems so imperial or metric is fine. 

None of these have warranty.

Please give me some suggestions.

In Canada, Leevalley sell:

TS75 Imperial for CAD  $929. Combo is CAD $1132.
TS75 Metric for CAD $995.
75” guide rail is CAD $298.

All including taxes of course.

The seller can deliver to my place too.

For $150 CAD, I'd go with the unused saw.

Since these are used, Id get the S/N and check with Festool to see if they are registered still under warranty or are hot.

You haven't mentioned what you'll be using the saw for.  This will determine if you really need the 75 over the 55.  There are lots of discussions on this.  To me the main driver is depth of cut.  If you need the extra depth of cut then you need the 75.  For me, I break down sheet goods and occasionally do a straight line rip.  With a rip blade in the 55, it has all the power you need for 4/4 stock.  I've never needed more horsepower than the 55.

If the answer is the 75, then I'd go for the unused one.

When looking at rails, it's worth buying the holey rail just in case you add the LR 32 system later.

Paying an extra 200 for a warranty is worth it in my opinion (assuming you go with the never used one). Ts75 is generally one of those festool that holds up really well, though in my case I did exercise the warranty coverage right at the end of the 3 yr period to replace a worn baseplate.

As was already mentioned, you should definitely check the serial number with festool to see if it's still covered -- warranty travels with the tool regardless of ownership.
