Hi!

I'd like to ask those of you who do bespoke/custom dressing room remodeling and build furniture a question, or maybe better, I'd like to ask for a favor: Could you show some pictures of tie storage solutions? No matter if it's "just" some sort of bought insert for a drawer, custom build wood with glas top display box or something completely different.

This is for a personal project, my tie "collection" is getting out of hand - the box on the table in my dressing room is way to small to hold all my favorites, I have a lot of ties hanging on special hangers between my shirts - and I want them all together now.

I'm thinking of a kind of chest with glas top (for my ultimates favorites) and 3 or 4 drawers. Since my ties are anything from bespoke/custom made to the big names of the game like Brioni, Hermès, Turnbull & Asser... I want something rather special - and not just a plastic insert for my existing drawers in the dressing room...

So if you have build something like this (or any tie storage solution) for a customer I'd be really happy if you could share a picture.

Thank you very much and kind regards,
Oliver

I did a closet for a customer in 2006, his requirement was for it to hold 100 suits, over 100 shirts and slightly more then 100 ties along with the belts and shoes. That being said all the ties were hanging in a black walnut unit a designed and made. He like that he could see each tie. I will try and find pics or drawings if you have any interest in the method of storage.

Hi!

That sounds really cool - I would love to see a picture - thank you very much for taking the time to look for it!

I do have some space left in the dressing room - so I can re-arrange if the final "tie-solution" requires it :) It doesn't have to be a "table top" solution, I can remove an existing sideboard for a stand-alone type solution.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Oliver I haven't been able to locate any of my original designs or pics but found a pic online similar in concept. Hope this helps. If you Google Tie Racks then look for images there are all sorts of ideas both ready made and buildable.

Hi John!

That looks pretty nice, I like that it is attached to the top, and not to the side like most of which I found.

Thank you ver much and kind regards,
Oliver
