Question on ETS 125 REQ sander

Quick question if i May. I have the Festool ETS 125 REQ sander which on a flat surface works fine and leaves a fantastic finish. I have however noticed that if I use it on its side or upside down then the pad stops rotating. Is this normal?

I believe so; you can stall rotation by holding the pad too.

It's "sensitive to touch" relative to the workpiece. My 150/3 behaves the same way.
