I make no pretenses to being a woodworker. I much prefer metal but the precision of Festool stuff is appealing enough to make me want to tackle projects in wood. Well, that and buying a house that needs a lot of cabinets and builtins is sort of forcing my hand. I have loved seeing all the various Sysports and work benches and at some point I'll make one but I need to start with making cabinets for the garage so I can start to put things away to make space so I can make cabinets for the house so I can move in. Lots of projects.

Anyway, I thought I'd show a very rough and fast base I made for my Kapex. I used two 1080 tables and the shelf is held with the table joining rails - it just slides in and then I bolt the Kapex down. It should work for the time being.

I plan to make a better version down the road with a real fence but right now this is working out.

Great idea. Does the table of the saw swing enough to cut 45 degree angles? I don't have a Kapex and it looks like the handle might not swing far enough, but I'm sure you made it so it would work.

I did the same thing  although I made it wider to fit the crown extensions. Love the set up if there is enough space on job site to allow it. Makes a versatile setup.

Yeah, it is pretty wide. I bought some aluminum angle that I'll use to remake it a little more accurately and I think I'll incorporate some height adjusters so I can dial it in a little better. It works right now so ill live with it until the garage is clear enough to build something more permanent.

This is an amazing cool idea - I think I have to clone it, thank you so much for sharing
