Went to the JLC live Show in Providence on Friday with my boy BuilderBob.  We were anticipating seeing the Ras in action at the Festool Booth for weeks in advance.  We bumped into Steve Bace (a wicked cool dude) and asked him if we could see him sand to a scribe mark.  He told us that seeing him cope crown would be way cooler.  Boy was he right.  I jokingly said "give me my phone so I can call Timmy C at FestoolJunkie.com and order one right now"  I didnt bc money was tight, but signed a few contracts since and will be ordering one packaged with another CT-22 this week.  Truly the fastest way to cope crown ever, with no dust, and looked like it would be an easy learning curve.  Timmy C, if your out there, fire up my bank card, again, Eric

Does anyone have video of something like this?  I have been coping with a coping foot, but I am up for something new.

Bill,

I've been threatening to do one for a while - just haven't gotten to it yet.  I'm doing crown the end of next week, and if someone hasn't beaten me to it, I'll do one then.

Gonna hold your feet to the fire on that one!    [popcorn]

Harry,

The real reason I had not done one yet was because I was not impressed with the dust collection the last time I did it.  That problem has been solved.  The difference between the RAS and the other sanders is that the RAS collects its dust around the rim of the pad.  It also collects chips around the rim of the pad.  I took my pad off and found that 3 quarters of the inlet was clogged with chips inside the tool.

Dust collection is much better now.

Peter
