I'm trying to locate specialty sheet/ply products like Valchromat/Paperstone/MR MDF/MDO/Medite/formply/etc. that are (1) available around Philadelphia MSA/SNJ and (2) available in small quantity to DIY buyers.
Basically, I'm looking for alternatives to birch ply or MDF that are suitable for hard use, very stable & resistant to the elements. Color-thru is a bonus, or with edges that don't require banding or overlay to look decent. I want stuff I can beat on with a hammer, that takes fasteners well and works with WW tools. "Reasonably" priced is also a bonus, like < a couple hundred a sheet or equivalent for smaller quantity. I don't want much. [big grin]
My uses include outdoor products, shop jigs and fixtures. I've found lots of beautiful products that are either only available from wholesale distributors (Fess Hall, Atlantic Plywood, etc.) or are NAINA. Valcromat looks great (for interior uses) but seems to be Euro-centric in DIY quantities. My ask is a long shot, and I've Googled my fingers to nubs...
Appreciate any specific suggestions. Thanks in advance.
