Found this notice on Fine Woodworking and figured I'd pass it on here as there are some if not many Festool owners who have this saw as well. Here is the text of the article and a link:http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/ToolGuide/ToolGuideArticle.aspx?id=30732 (might have to be a subscriber to view)

DeWalt Recalls 13,000 Portable Tablesaws
A problem with the pivot bracket can cause kickback, posing a laceration hazard.
by Fine Woodworking editors

DeWalt Industrial Tool Co. has announced the recall of approximately 13,000 10-in. jobsite tablesaws model DW744 because they present a laceration hazard. Date codes included in the recall are 200715 through 200740. You can find the model number and date code on the name plate on the front of the saw (see the illustration).

If you own one of the saws covered in the recall, the manufacturer says to stop using it immediately and call 888-742-9168 or go to DeWalt.Com to find the location of a service center to obtain a replacement table saw.

The saws being recalled were sold at major home centers and hardware stores nationwide from April 2007 through January 2008 for about $500.

Saws with an "X" stamped on the nameplate by the date code are not included in this recall.

Mark,
That's interesting, though I have to admit I don't get what the actual defect is and how it's related to kickback.
Buyt hey, this saw passed UL inspection!!
