Received a Festool shipment and this doesn't seem right

So I ordered the systainers for the ETS150 and RS400 with the granat sand paper selection.  I received the order today and have some questions because this just does not seem right to me.

1. Should the disks be all over the place and some upside down compared to others?  It looks to me like someone just threw them in without storing.  If they move this much in shipping, why did they not put some newspaper in with it to take up the space to prevent this?
2. The disks all seem curved.  I have only seen the disks and paper flat never curved this much .. makes for a pain to sort through the pile every time you need one.[attachimg=1][attachimg=2]
3. There is no foam in the lids of the two systainers.  Is this common for a set when you buy it.  I know that the plain systainers do not come with it but all the tools ones do.
4. There was bubble wrap just on the front and back of the systainer.  A sheet of newspaper on the bottom and top.  Is this normal for the shipping?

This is going to take some time to sort out and reorder so it is arranged the way I though it should be.  I know we pay premiums for this stuff so I would expect it to be shipped the same way.

I just want to receive feedback of how others have received these packages prior to doing anything.

I see you are in Canada, who is the dealer? I think most of your questions about how things were shipped should be addressed to them. Is that their SOP?

My Systainers for sand paper do not have any foam in the lid

I received an RO90 sandpaper assortment purchased by a friend from Lee Valley. Each different paper was in a small plastic bag with a label

The curved paper is definitely normal. Mine looks the same. When it's stuck to the sander pad it makes no difference.

As to the other points, I can't help. Sorry.

The lids don't have foam.  The sandpaper does curl.  It doesn't affect performance.  I suspect that in shipping your paper may have redistributed itself.

I ordered the sandpaper with systainer from LV recently and ALL of the different grits and type were grouped in plastics bags with printed labels describing each type

Funny, I thought that was a picture of my 150 sandpaper systainer... It looks exactly the same as yours and yes, it's a little bit of a mess - every time I sort and straighten it all out, the first time it gets tilted sideways because I'm after something in another systainer lower in the stack (I don't always remove the upper units) the paper flops around and looks like that all over again. It's a minor annoyance, but given the orientation of the discs in the tray it's what happens. A tray with deeper slots would probably help alleviate the situation.

But with regard to the shipping, mine showed up the same way. Ditto above on the curvature of the paper - it's a non-issue under use.

With the exception of limited editions, Festool abrasive assortments in systainers are dealer prepared offerings. So the scope of delivery will depend on the dealer.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies.  It appears that I am off to sort out 200 disks of paper [crying]

Curled paper does make it messy, but that is normal.

On my inserts, I remove the whole stack, take a piece and replace it. It helps keeps them stacked neatly and prevents some/all the frustration.

Here is how I made my Ets125 insert (minus the foam).

Happy Festooling

I keep mine in the card board boxes in a drawer in my card file.

Stopped trying to keep them in a systainer a while ago.

Same here.  Looks like the individual bags was an extra special touch by LV.

I made my own partition system from 6mm Baltic birch plywood to keep the various grades of abrasives organized.  This one is for the RO 125 and ETS 125.  I have another for the RO 90.  I've been very pleased with the results.  The one thing I'd do differently today would be to scallop the tops of the dividers to make it easier to get individual pieces of abrasives from their compartments.
