Hello, All:

I want to purchase a reconditioned Domino 500 from the Festool Reconditioned Outlet and have been trying to do so for nearly a year.

When I follow up after receiving an email announcing availability, I'm notified the item is "Sold Out".  I have even been on-line when an email announcement comes in and I click on "Purchase" only to find out the item is already sold.

I have a really good Internet connection and it seems I'm just not fast enough.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

THANKS in advance for any responses.

Sincerely,
Ken C.

I'm in front of my computer for most of the day so I installed the Check4Change Firefox Addon.  I have it set to check www.festoolrecon.com every 30 seconds for a change.  I found there are some other services that can email or text you when a website changes, but they all seem to cost money if you need these "push" notifications.

You really have to know when the website changed and not rely on the email notification.  I typically get the email notification 10-15 minutes after the website has changed.

It also helps to have your payment information saved so that you can make your purchase immediately once you see the item come up for sale on www.festoolrecon.com directly.

Ken,
My theory is that the issue is exactly as goingmyway describes.  I too have occassionally clicked the emails (let's say over 2 dozen times in the last 6 months) and maybe once or twice (on tools that likely have a lower demand) were they available.  The domino is probably among the more popular tools, so I would expect it to go quickly.  Try what was suggested and see if that works out for you.  And while you're waiting, keep an eye on the classified here.

THANKS GoingMyWay and RKA for the suggestions.  I'll be checking out the "Check4Change Firefox Addon".

I'll make a Domino score in the near future--I'm hoping!

Thanks again,
Ken

Ken,
Good luck on the hunt for a DF500.  I have one and while it’s not used on every project, when needed it is absolutely terrific.
