Redwood fencing finish ideas

I’ve salvaged a bunch of clear redwood siding and plan to use it for fencing material for the home’s side fences and gates.  Looking for low-maintenance finishing ideas - don’t want to tend to it annually but willing to revisit every few years or so.  Thompson’s?  Semi-transparent stain?  Just a penetrating oil?

[blink]

Or even better, no finish at all :-)

Our fences are redwood and are left natural.  They don't last forever, but a long time.  Most failures are at the bottom or where the fasteners are, I doubt most finishes would help with that.

Ha yeah of course that’s an option too, and what most people do around here (I believe you and I are both SF/BayArea).  There are a few folks that keep them looking not-gray for at least a few years (especially when it’s not a basic vertical fence) and I was hoping to determine the secret.  [big grin]

I have redwood decks and fences (also SF Bay Area). The fence installer used a finish with a modest amount of stain and it has held up well.  I have redone the decks several times. Thompson’s does not last long, just one or two years.  Then I used a product from Flood and it lasted around 5 years.
I might try clear latex next time; see this thread:https://www.festoolownersgroup.com/finishing/outdoor-clear-coat/msg591029/#msg591029

Thanks for that thread link - not sure how I missed it.  Clear latex is intriguing indeed.  As is the rec for EM9300 (I like and regularly use other Target products).
