Refurb sale

Time is money - unless you have all the time in the world...  For most, getting something done Faster, Easier, and Smarter has value. Some don't perceive that value for various reasons.

For those that make money using tools, it's an ROI calculation. The calculation is more complicated than it appears, just like most ROI calculations are. Sometimes when people are counting employee cost(s), they fail to include the full burden rate (wages, tax contributions, health care, etc.). It's common, in employment situations, for the fully loaded burden to be 140% - 200% of the money that is paid out in wages or salary. If you save an hour of someone's time, it could count for twice what goes to them. That's just the start of the complexity. The other aspects include (but are not limited to) quality of work & limiting scrap, timeliness of completion, customer perception & referrals, plus, in some cases, regulatory compliance.

For those that use tools for enjoyment, it's hard to put a number to what increased enjoyment is worth. Again, everyone is different... Some gain their greatest satisfaction from making something out of nothing and the relative struggle. Others revel in more volume of comfortable achievement.

Waiting for 10% off or even 20%-30% off can cost a lot more than the savings achieved by not waiting.

A few days ago and on another forum, someone asked me if Festool was worth the price. I responded that it depends on what you value. Everyone is different but when I perceive value and I wait, I always kick myself in the butt for delaying reaping the reward.

+1
the way i look at these things is that if i need (or have talked myself into) a tool purchase then every minute after that is time wasted not having it (presuming the purchase saves time etc which they almost all do) is costing me money or having poor results etc.
so i usually buy straight away

Fair warning... tomorrow is the last day we are accepting orders for reconditioned tools.

Well I am saddened to see the sale end today.  I placed my 4th order today. I got a ts55 and 5 es125 sanders. Now before you start asking why I got so many 125s. Let me explain.  I am switching my sprinter van completely over to sustainers on shelves. So instead of paying $70 for an empty systainer 2.  I paid $112 for a sander and systainer.  I refinish floors, so I will use the sanders regardless.  This refurb sale has stocked me up for awhile now.  I ordered a total of 13 sanders this time around. Also got 2 drills, ts55, router.  I am so thrilled with the condition of the equipment, great value.  Look forward to the next.  Thanks Shane for your help the few times I had questions.  Thanks.    Sam

Is this something Festool will plan to do every year or once every couple of years?  If there is one in the next year or two I plan to pick up a Kapex.  I did get my Domino this time around which is awesome!

There is no schedule or regular cadence for the reconditioned tool sale. It based on having enough tools to support a sale. So, it could be in 8 months or 5 years. The previous one was almost two years ago, in February 2011.
