Very cool!  I'd go but the commute would be killer.  I hope more dealers are able to set up these type of event.

Is there any chance you could throw a MacBook or something in a corner so those of us not in CA could watch? I bet you'd get a bunch of people on here interested. You could use ustream or something to make the multicasting super easy.

I sure agree with Brice. We need more dealers to offer something like this across the country. Shane was wondering how to gain more customers, well here is the solution.

It would be a wonderful opportunity to supplement their training classes which are so limited in number.

Yes it is and I should be the one hired to do the classes. In fact I am doing another one. On march 10. At highland woodworking in Atlanta.

Plus check out my video series  on YouTube.  Search.  Builtinsbykreg.  And you can watch festools in action.

Another vote here for more dealers to host this type of show. I find that sometimes when I see a Festool accessory I am not sure how it works, setup etc. So a live presentation would be very welcome.

Glad to see you guys are sponsoring this and wish I was closer!  Hands on training is essential to getting the most out of the Festool system.

It seems like a lot of Festool owners would like to have local training opportunities to better understand the full potential of their tools and accessories.  This also represents a barrier to potential buyers who don't realize the different capabilities between Festools and less expensive alternatives.

The truth of the matter is some local dealers (particularly the two big national chains) are not as versed as they should be and most of us cannot afford to travel to Las Vegas or Indianapolis if we were lucky enough to get one of the very limited training spots.

Hi Brice,

There is an airport in Palm Springs about 15 miles away and 3 hotels within 2 miles of our store. We'll even come pick you up if you are coming! You can enjoy our Festool Training Session then spend a lovely weekend in Palm Springs enjoying some of our famous golf courses, restaurants, and resorts. Plus, the average temp here in December is about 70 degrees.

Hi Noah,

This is a great idea. We will look into this, but can't make any immediate promises. [unsure] If we can do this, we'll make an official announcement.

Hi deepcreek,

All of our staff has been to training, some of us even more than once! If you have any questions on how to use your tools or accessories, we'll do our best to help you. Give us a call anytime, 888-705-6510.

Hi, In-Touch (Festool Store) Gang,

All of you have excellent Festool product knowledge.

You know I am always doing what it takes to justify a road trip to Palm Desert. Every moment spent with your gang and Steve Bace increases proficiency using Festools.

I just completed a Festool class conducted by Steve Bace in Henderson. Those were 2 productive days. So unfortunately I am not sure I can get away for your event. Has a deadline for reservations been set? Right now I have a conflicting event on 3 December. If I can arrange to reschedule that, I will contact you. At least I will be driving myself from Burbank.

Hi Everyone at In-Touch,

It was possible for me to reschedule 2 and 3 December.

I have just registered for your cabinet class.

Can you provide me details about those hotels or motels close to you? My plan is to start driving to Palm Desert about noon on Friday 2 December, stay in a motel/hotel, get to the class fully rested, remain in that same motel/hotel Saturday evening, then leave before dawn Sunday morning.

Trust me, I am excited about this class.

Hi Nice Festool Store Folks,

A million thanks for the Palm Desert hotel information.

Moments ago I registered on-line at Homewood Suites by Hilton. Already I received my reservation confirmation number, so I am all set for a marvelous and educational weekend.

Should anyone care to gather on Friday evening before the class or on Saturday evening after the class, just send me a FOG PM or an e-mail.

I have been to both the Cabinet class and Door/Draws class, that Steve give in Las Vegas. Sounds like your class is much of the same information?  Or is this class a different take on cabinets?

Peter

My Son-in-Law and I will be driving in from San Diego to attend the class.  It will be the first Festool training session for us and we both are looking forward to it.

I am looking forward to the class this Saturday.  I will be driving from Phoenix which is about a 4 hour drive.

I have made a couple of purchase from In Touch and I have been very happy with the service.  I received my items within 3 business days both times.  In the the past it has always been 7-10 days or even longer.  Keep up the good work guys.

I'm signed up for it.  I attended the Advanced Router class with Steve Bace in Vegas on the 21st and 22nd, and am really looking forward to the cabinet class.

The class will be similar, but there's always something new to learn.

Many thanks to Maria, Jay, Jannel, Aldo and everyone from In Touch Tools, the Festool Store of Palm Dessert. They were marvelous and generous hosts, as always.

Many thanks also to Steve Bace and Allen Kingsley for presenting such a comprehensive version of the Cabinet Construction class in just a single day.

Absolutely the next time In-Touch or another dealer within driving distance hosts a similar event I will be there.

Of course with 20 or more folks in a class, for many reasons this was not the same as a two-day hands on class in a Festool training facility with just six participants. Still and all all of us learned a lot. Some of us have attended more than one End User Class in Henderson. One had also attended dealer training from Steve. We all made many new good friends.

On Friday evening two of us who drove into Palm Desert early had a get together at a fine Italian restaurant on Highway 111 at the corner with Cook. Then on Saturday evening after class several of us got together at The Outback Steak House on Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive. Both of those restaurants are actually in Indian Wells. I stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton on Cook near the I-10 Freeway. Some participants stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton on Highway 111 not far from Cook. At least one stayed at Holiday Inn Express on Hgw 111. All of these are nice places at fair prices.

Sure, I missed the Feast Buffet at Sunset Station in Henderson. Yet even without that buffet, this still was a real Festool Class. I encourage dealers all over to host such regional classes. In my post-class evaluation I asked for one-day Advanced Router and Introduction to Festool as additional classes.
