So I spent three hours yesterday debugging why my CMS-TS55 was cutting crooked when I few longer bits of ply through it with the sliding table and mitre gauge. My cuts were wandering off to the right by about 2mm per 60cm.
Of course my first thought was that I've knocked my mitre gauge out of square and went to check and adjust it (multiple time, mind you) and didn't fix the problem.
Since I had to get things done I manually compensated for the error and only before my last panel for the day a thought hit me....
I hadn't looked at the V-groove on the side of the CMS when I attached the sliding table attachment in place (was distracted by my son) and lo and behold - when I removed the slider attachment I found a little piece of wood just conveniently under the V-paddle of the slider rail that deflected the whole slider by that couple of mm over the length of the slider's travel to the left.
After a quick blow and wipe and reinstall the slider and readjust the mitre gauge back to real square I'm back to exact cut like always. [doh]
