Been a lurker but first time post here.

I have one of the Renofix grinders and I’ve had it for about 6 months and I love it. But recently it’s bogging down and shutting off and then turning back on again on its own. The trigger also doesn’t always turn the tool on like the connection that the switch makes is dirty. It would be nice to not have to send it in for service right now because we are using it for the next couple of weeks. Is this a known issue or some sort of safety cut out mechanism that turns the tool off under certain circumstances? The tool isn’t getting hot and isn’t bogged down from the work being done. It's doing it under no load. I have a video but looks like I can only upload photos here.

Has anyone else experience similar issues? I bought my first Festool tools last fall and have about 7 of them now. All great but have had to send 3 of them in for service for similar issues (ETS EC 150/5 sander and others). I think that's a lot of top of the line tools that need to perform reliabily.

Thank you for your help.

I’ve had two renofix RG130 and they have both done exactly the same as your experiencing. The first one was going for warranty service but got stolen the day before sending, the replacement is going in shortly. I have spoken to several other owners who have also experienced the same faults but neither of them could tell me what the repair was. So you’re not imagining it! But they are a fantastic tool and I wouldn’t want to be without it.
