I was filling the groove in my MFT 3 with Bondo when it got to wide and deep. So talking to a guy at one of my suppliers, He routed a groove in his MFT added a sliding dove tail to prevent the insert from coming up due to the turn of the saw blade. So I made one about a  1 1/4" wide X 3/8 deep. Still not sure how I feel about it but it did seem like a good idea. I might end up modifying it even more by making it even more wide. Anyway, I thought I would share it with you guys.

I dont know why Festool dont make one out of delrin. seems like a good idea.

BTW I put the screws in the top so I would know where they were and not run the blade into them by "accident"

That's a great idea!  My guess as to why Festool doesn't do it is because they have no idea where each one of us may possibly set up the saw for ourselves. I've seen some MFT's set up the long way and some set up the short way!  Nevertheless a great mod to save having to purchase a new top!

Good one, very good one. I like the idea of making it wider, and would consider running one the long way too.
