Hey all
I'm repairing a Kapex purchased in salvage condition. I need to remove what Festool call the "gear arm assembly", which is the main metal arm carrying the motor and blade, that rotates down from the horizontal pivot point in the sliding cart.
The one part giving me pause is reinstallation of the main leg spring. This part (#10436999) is marked as "special tool required for repair" in ekat. The video below covers this but it's hard to see what's going on, though it seems like it can be tensioned into place with a nut driver or another similar lever.
I'm wondering if anyone has mcguyvered it like this and can share their experience?
